  • Direct and coordinate activities of Purchasing department to meet the goals and objectives set for the department.
  • Ensure all of the company's purchasing and related activities for the required materials and services results in the best mix of price, delivery, quality and quantity at the lowest total cost to the company.
  • Negotiate contracts for major commodities, purchases or services, issue all purchase orders and/or contracts and follow-up to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Evaluate the current supplier base for major commodities and develop new or existing suppliers to support future requirements.
  • Assist in the resolution of supply problems and supervise the follow-up and expediting of supplier deliveries.
  • Provide purchasing input to the R&D/New Product Development function by using new and existing vendor relationships to identify new products or processes that could be of value to the company.
  • Manage all raw material stock levels in plant as well as supplier stock
  • Improve MRP functionality through data review
  • Forecast raw materials based on historical demand, inventory builds, and seasonality
  • Oversee and monitor all environmental activities to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and municipal laws and regulations.
  • Plan and promote direct report participation in training programs and professional development activities, both within and outside the company.
  • Plan and coordinate all plant employee travel arrangements
  • Monitor AP aging report, and correct all invoice inaccuracies
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



This position generally requires a bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of related work experience with a demonstrated track record of accomplishment.
